A team of Babylon 7th graders earned third place in the Suffolk County Battle of the Books reading competition, which was held on August 12. Nicknamed the Capri Suns, our middle schoolers represented the Babylon Public Library and went up against students from 29 other libraries across the county. The Babylon team comprised Kelsea O’Hara, Lilly Murphy, Leah Skarulis, Juliet Gimberlein, Ciara Weisbecker, Elliott Brunjes and Dominic Davila.

The challenge tasked the students with reading six young adult books. At the competition, the teams were asked increasingly difficult questions pertaining to the books over the course of three rounds.
