Babylon Town Councilman Lindsay Henry Charged In Domestic Dispute: Police
BREAKING: Henry is charged with third degree assault, a misdemeanor.
Babylon Town Councilman Lindsay Henry has been charged with assault following a "domestic dispute" that occurred on Sunday, Suffolk Police said.
Henry, of Oak Beach, was arrested late Tuesday night after he surrendered himself at the First Precinct, police said.
According to police, the 54-year-old was involved in a domestic dispute Sunday afternoon. A "victim" suffered a physical injury, police said.

Henry, whose father and grandfather both served as Suffolk County district attorney, is charged with third degree assault, a misdemeanor. He pleaded not guilty during an arraignment Wednesday in First District Court in Central Islip.
Babylon Town Supervisor Rich Schaffer released the following statement Wednesday afternoon:

“Accusations of this nature should always be taken very seriously and I, along with Deputy Supervisor Martinez, Councilwoman Gordon, and Councilman Donnelly, strongly condemn any instance of domestic violence. That being said, the matter is now before the courts and I am confident that the legal process will be swiftly and fairly adjudicated.”
Henry is not seeking re-election this fall after 16 years on the Town Board. He told Newsday in May that he was planning to get married and was too busy with his law practice.
