Babylon Village Fire: 2 Businesses Destroyed [VIDEO]
An update on this morning's awful fire in Babylon Village.

BABYLON, NY - A fire ripped through a strip of stores in Babylon Village Thursday morning, destroying two of them, authorities said.
The blaze was reported at 260 E. Main Street at 5:07 a.m.
The fire started at a two-story store along a strip of several stores and spread to the Sherwin-Williams paint store.

News 12 reported that the fire started at Empire Nutrition, which planned to hold its grand opening Thursday.

According to a message on the Babylon Fire Department's Facebook page, the village lost two businesses to fire and two others took heavy damage.
"Luckily Suffolk Marine Center’s boat stock only inches from the fire were spared due to the quick thinking volunteers," the message read. "The fire could easily have been a total loss. However our volunteers made an aggressive stop with the help of neighboring departments."
Members of the Babylon, West Islip, North Lindenhurst, Deer Park, Lindenhurst, Wyandanch, West Babylon and North Babylon fire departments all responded.
No injuries have been reported.
