Babylon Village Trustee Announces Retirement After 15 Years

The trustee will be resigning from her position as of next month. The board elected a new trustee to take over at the last meeting.

BABYLON VILLAGE, NY - A Babylon Village Trustee announced she will be resigning next month during the last Village Board meeting on Tuesday.

Trustee Debbie Basile will be retiring at the end of July after 15 years of service.

During the meeting, Mayor Ralph A. Scordino accepted her resignation and praised Basile for her many accomplishments as a trustee as well as her contribution to the Babylon Breast Cancer Coalition.

He called her a "force in Babylon Village that has benefited the people of her community with dedication, enthusiasm, and leadership."

The board unanimously appointed Robyn Silvestri to take over the rest of Basile's term.

According to Scordino, Silvestri had distinguished herself as President of the PTA.

He praised her personal qualities and her dedication to community service as he outlined her many accomplishments in Babylon Village.
