Some packed crayons and some packed laptops, but all students in the Babylon School District returned to school on Sept. 2, reuniting with friends and sharing their summer stories.
At Babylon Grade School Principal Steven Goldberg and Superintendent Linda Rozzi greeted students as they disembarked and welcomed them back. At Babylon Elementary School, first-graders learned where to unpack their school supplies and worked on beginning of the year arts and craft projects, while second-graders got a chance to visit old teachers and find their new classrooms. Principal Jessica Kemler greeted the students outside the main entrance as they walked in to start the new year.
It was the beginning of a new chapter for incoming seventh-graders at Babylon Junior-Senior High School, and the final first day of school for incoming seniors. Administrators and faculty welcomed the new students and reconnected with familiar ones.
