BHS ASL Students Take a Trip to Radio City
Students Get Opportunity to See Christmas Spectacular Interpreted in Sign Language
Senior students in Babylon Junior-Senior High School’s American Sign Language 3 and 4 classes recently took a field trip to Radio City Music Hall for a very special production of its famed Christmas Spectacular.
This version of the Christmas Spectacular featured two nationally certified ASL interpreters, specialists in Broadway shows and concerts, interpreting the entire show in sign language for the audience.
Students in ASL 4 class are currently learning how to interpret music for the hearing impaired, and this visit gave them the opportunity to see how interpreting music is done in a professional setting and how the incredibly talented performers are able to convert song into ASL in an instant.
