Local Businesses Taking Part in Chase Grant Contest

Over 20 local businesses from throughout the Town of Babylon are vying for an opportunity for a $250,000 grant from Chase Bank in the Mission Main Street Grant Program.

The program will award 12 businesses $250,000 grants to help further their products and services. The businesses that will be selected when the program ends need at least 250 votes to be considered.

Positions' Dancers Begin Sugar Bowl Practices and Preparations

Babylon's Positions Dance Studio is going somewhere they have never been before – New Orleans... or the Sugar Bowl at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome, to be more precise.

A group of 11 girls will head down to the Bayou State in late December as they prepare for their performance during the college bowl game at the home of the New Orleans Saints. Patch reported this exclusively back in March.

Hess Begins Deer Park Avenue Refresh

About five months after it asked for permission to build a convenience store, the Hess on the corner of Deer Park Avenue and Grand Boulevard has torn down its gas station and has started rebuilding the location to include a Hess Express.

West Islip Shops Participating in Small Business Saturday

There are nearly a dozen West Islip stores and businesses participating in the upcoming Small Business Saturday event which is dedicated to helping local businesses during the holiday season and throughout the year. This year it takes place on Nov. 30, between Black Friday and Cyber Monday. Local residents are encouraged to shop locally and purchase services, gift and gift certificates from participating stores and plan any holiday events at local venues.
