Good Samaritans Pull Woman From Burning Car: PD

BABYLON, NY — A woman whose car caught on fire is alive, thanks to the good deeds of two bystanders, New York State police said.

Nancy Brady, 58, of West Sayville, was traveling eastbound in a 2004 Chrysler Pacifica at about 8:29 p.m. on Wednesday the Southern State Parkway when her vehicle left the roadway, struck a tree and caught on fire, police said.

Two good Samaritans, Christine and Karl Ott of Sayville, observed the severity of the situation, jumped into action and removed Brady from the burning vehicle, police said.

Brady was transported by Suffolk County Police Helicopter to Stony Brook Hospital for her injuries, police said.

The collision is still under investigation and the State Police is asking for witness or anyone with any information to call (631) 756-3300.
