Individual At Babylon High School Tests Positive For COVID-19

Officials have begun contact tracing to inform those who have come in contact with the individual.

BABYLON, NY — Babylon High School announced on Friday that "an individual associated with the PM program" tested positive for COVID-19.

Principal Al Cirone notified parents in a phone call and in accordance with NYSED regulations, the program has reported the information to our Suffolk County Health Department.

"We are working with the health department and are taking all recommended steps to ensure the safety of our children and staff," Cirone said in the call.

While the district did not specify how the person was associated with the program, they stated that this person will not return to the program until they have completed isolation procedures for COVID-19. School officials are also starting to conduct contact tracing for the PM Cohort.

Officials also asked that PM students not report to the building Friday. Students still reported to their class teams for Period 5-8 B day Friday afternoon.
