BABYLON VILLAGE, NY — A longtime staple in Babylon Village is preparing to say goodbye.

Café Il Villaggio, an Italian restaurant that has served the community for more than three decades, announced it will be closing its doors after 31 years.

In a message posted on social media, the restaurant shared its journey from a small business into what it described as something far greater.

“What started as a small restaurant became so much more than we ever imagined,” the post read. “It became a place where we raised our family, where laughter filled the room, where milestones were celebrated, and where strangers walked in and left as lifelong friends.”

The announcement drew an outpouring of support online, with longtime patrons sharing memories and thanking the owners for years of service to the community.

The owners expressed deep gratitude to the Babylon Village community, calling it “our heart,” and thanked customers for years of loyalty and support.

“Every meal shared, every holiday celebrated, every familiar face… those are the memories we will carry with us forever,” the statement read.

Café Il Villaggio's final day of operation will be Friday, April 24.

The restaurant invited customers to stop by before closing to share one last meal and say goodbye in person.

“Thank you for allowing us to be a part of your lives for over three decades,” the post read. “It has truly been an honor.”
