Lucas Chang Wins Recycling Poster Contest

West Babylon’s Lucas Chang, a fourth-grader at South Bay Elementary School, is a first-place winner (grades 4-6 category) in the Covanta Energy ninth annual Recycling Poster Contest.

Lucas and his family have been invited to attend a ceremony on June 3, where he will receive a trophy and certificate from the Town of Babylon. In addition, because Lucas attends South Bay Elementary School, the school will receive a $500 Barnes and Noble gift card, which will be used to purchase books and/or technology products for students.

“We are all very proud of Lucas’ accomplishment and plan to hang his award-winning poster in the cafeteria to remind us all to participate in our school’s recycling efforts,” Principal Joann Scott said.
