Man Shot in North Amityville
The 23-year-old is in serious condition following shooting early Sunday, police say.

A Wyandanch man was seriously injured after he was shot multiple times in North Amityville early Sunday morning.
According to Suffolk Police, First Precinct officers responded to the area of Offaly Street, between Brandon Avenue and Geraldine Avenue, after a Shot-Spotter activation indicated that several shots were fired at 1:40 a.m.
When officers arrived, they discovered Cory Branch lying in the street with multiple gunshot wounds to his lower body.

An investigation by First Squad detectives revealed that Branch was shot by an unknown person while he was standing next to a dark-colored SUV. Branch was transported by ambulance to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center, where he is listed in serious condition.
The investigation is continuing and detectives are looking for the SUV and another vehicle, possibly a Honda Accord, which was seen in the vicinity at the time.
