Men Sold Alcohol, Cigarettes, Nicotine To Minors: Police

The two were caught during an investigation into the sale of e-liquid nicotine and cigarettes to minors in the Town of Babylon.

TOWN OF BABYLON, NY - Two clerks were found to have sold alcohol, nicotine and/or cigarettes to minors during a State Liquor Authority inspection in the Town of Babylon on Friday, according to Suffolk Police.

Due to numerous community complaints, police conducted the investigation into the sale of e-liquid nicotine and cigarettes to minors at two businesses with underage police agents, police said.

According to police, the following businesses did not comply with the New York State Liquor Authority:

  • Alla Convenience Inc. on 1308 Straight Path in Wyandanch sold e-liquid nicotine, cigarettes and cigars to underage police agents.
  • The Barn on 358 Deer Park Avenue in Babylon Village sold alcoholic beverages as well as cigarettes to underage police agents.

Fadhel Yousef, 30, from New York, an employee at Alla Convenience Inc., was issued a field appearance ticket to appear at First District Court for sale of e-liquid nicotine to a person less than 21 and two counts of sale of tobacco products to person less than 21, police said.

Dharmendra Gadhavi (a.k.a Sheid), 31, from Amityville, an employee at The Barn, was arrested for seventh degree criminal possession of a controlled substance (concentrated cannabis), two counts of first degree unlawfully dealing with a child, two counts sale to person under 21, and two counts sale of tobacco products to person less than 21, police said.

Both men will be arraigned at First District Court on May 10.
