Officials Break Ground On New North Amityville Municipal Building
The two-story building will house a career center and a new code violation adjudication bureau.

NORTH AMITYVILLE, NY - Town of Babylon officials, representatives, and community activists gathered Monday to commemorate the construction of the town's new North Amityville municipal building.
The planned two-story building, at 456 Albany Avenue, will house the Department of Civil Service and the town’s new code violation adjudication bureau.
“I am ecstatic over the project; it’s finally happening,” said community activist Delores Quintyne, whose late husband had a lifelong commitment to the betterment of North Amityville. “My husband Irwin Quintyne’s dream is coming to fruition.”

According to a press release, the facility will include a career center where residents can learn about employment opportunities and civil service tests. The town also aims to enforce code violations at the adjudication bureau, including building and fire violations, invalid or missing Certificate of Occupancy violations, high grass violations, improper waste disposal, and unregistered vehicle storage.
Officials also hope that the new building will benefit the North Amityville community by increasing foot traffic in the area and providing a boost for surrounding businesses.
