'Paddle Out' To Honor Charlie Bunger Scheduled For This Weekend
Bunger, who died in July, was a legendary surfboard builder, surfer and surf shop owner. Hundreds are expected to attend the event.

BABYLON, NY – An event to honor legendary surfboard builder, surfer and surf shop owner, Charlie Bunger, who died last July, will take place this weekend.
Bunger will memorialized during the Annual Charlie Bunger Memorial Paddle Out scheduled for Saturday, October 6 starting at at 8 a.m. at Gilgo Beach.
Due to winds and wave heights, the paddle out will take place on the bayside of Gilgo – just off the municipal marina adjacent to the Gilgo Inn.

Hundreds of surfers from far and wide are expected to participate.
Bunger, who died at age 77, opened the Bunger Surf Shop in Babylon back in 1962.
