Panthers Bring Home a Win at Babylon Homecoming
Annual Celebration is Followed by Successful Game Against Center Moriches
The Babylon Panthers hosted a triumphant homecoming on September 24 against Center Moriches in which the varsity football team came out on top 27-0. The victory followed the traditional homecoming celebration that comes every fall, and is one of the annual highlights of Babylon school pride.
In the leadup to the game, representatives from each class at Babylon Junior-Senior High School marched through the streets of Babylon Village along with their custom-made, themed floats. Also taking part in the parade were the 2022 homecoming king and queen with their associated court of homecoming royalty. Befitting of their royal status, they could be seen sitting atop their vehicles in the parade.
Other returning traditions included the 10th Annual Babylon Booster Club Chili & Chowder Cook-Off. Taking place track-side during the game, the contest featured local judges sampling the best chili and chowder made by restaurants in the area, with the winner earning a championship plate to be displayed at their place of business.
