Photos of the Day: The Stormy Skies Over Babylon

If you were not awake by 8:00am yesterday, Mother Nature did her darnedest to make sure you were. Multiple lines of thunderstorms rolled over Babylon yesterday, knocking out power in our area and even flooding some homes throughout Long Island.

The storm around 5:00pm yesterday did not cause much damage nor outages, but it put on a heck of a show with some of the darkest clouds we've seen in a long time! Patch Nassau Regional Editor Jaime Sumersille caught this dramatic shot over Arnold Avenue in Babylon Village yesterday afternoon.

The second photo, captured by yours truly, was taken in the Great South Bay Shopping Center as the storm rolled in, turning a sunny afternoon into what seemed like night time!
