Swinick allegedly told the troopers that he was on his way from West Babylon to Farmingdale to drop off his daughter’s friend.
Police said Swinick was extremely unsteady on his feet and used his vehicle for balance on numerous occasions. Swinick failed sobriety tests at the scene, police said.
Two 9-year-old children were inside the Kia. They were not injured and were turned over to their respective mothers.
Swinick was arrested and charged with aggravated DWI–child passenger 15 years old or younger– and driving while ability impaired by drugs. Swinick is expected to be arraigned in Nassau County First District Court on Thursday.
