
Following a busy summer of curriculum-writing projects and continuing capital work associated with the community-approved bond referendum, it was a smooth start to the 2014-15 school year in the Babylon School District.
With their backpacks on and school supplies at the ready, students were welcomed into their respective buildings by administrators, teachers and staff members for the first day of school on Sept. 3. Continuing their yearly tradition of easing the transition into full-day kindergarten, Babylon Elementary School hosted an orientation on the first day for students and parents.
In late August, the Babylon Junior-Senior High School hosted an orientation for seventh-graders and their parents, which allowed the students to become familiar with the building, as well as their schedule and lockers.
