Celebrating all the benefits of playtime, South Bay Elementary School engaged in Global Play Day on Feb. 3.

South Bay Elementary School in the West Babylon School District celebrated Global Play Day 2021 on Feb. 3. The event is intended to celebrate playing and what it can do for language development, social skills, problem-solving, reasoning and confidence. Throughout the day, the school conducted fun trivia, games and brain teasers over the announcement system.

Classes rotated through different activity stations during the day. Each one had scheduled times on the math and movement mats. On their Chromebooks, students played classroom scavenger hunts and games such as Fishbowl, Charades, Basketball Brain Challenge and Bingo. Teachers also used the Smartboard to access Global Play Day games to engaged the entire class.
