Babylon Memorial Grade School 3rd grade students in Ms. Moran’s class are continuing their STEAM lessons with Ozobots. The small, pocket-sized robots introduce the students to the basics of computer programming.
During recent lessons, Ms. Moran explained how the students can communicate with the Ozobots and instruct them to perform in specific ways. Using markers, the students created colored boxes, which the robots are able to scan with their sensors. The boxes, or color codes as they are called, instruct the machine to stop, turn, and move forward or backward. With this functionality, the students were able to create their own paths for the Ozobots to follow.
