Town to Celebrate Women’s History Month on March 30th

"Honoring Trailblazing Women in Labor and Business," featuring local honorees, live entertainment

Babylon Town Supervisor Rich Schaffer is proud to join with the Department of Human Services to host the Town’s annual Women’s History Month Celebration to be held this Thursday, March 30th at Walter G. O’Connell High School in Copiague. The event starts at 6PM and will feature honorees from the community, as well as live musical performances.

Delivering the keynote address at this year’s event will be Laura Douglas-Robinson, the Senior Executive Unit Leader at Avon Products, Inc. Judge Debra Urbano-DiSalvo, Amityville Village Justice, will serve as the Mistress of Ceremonies. Among the live performances will be Alleyah Kate and the Roseland School of Dance. This year’s honorees include:

  • Alice Capalbo—Neguntatogue Beautification Society
  • Jacqueline Martinez—Southold Town Human Resource Center
  • Colleen McGrath—Office of the Suffolk County Executive
  • Margot Nelson—Wyandanch Scholarship Committee
  • Tatiana Leftenant—Sheascents, LLC
  • Melissa Firmes—KiDS NEED MoRE, Inc.
  • Barbara Evernham—Deputy Town Clerk, Town of Babylon

In addition to honorees and live performances, there will be a vendor marketplace featuring displays from local businesses.
