W. Babylon Student Selected for All-Eastern Honors Music Ensemble

Abigail Carberry is among nearly 800 students from the eastern United States selected.

West Babylon High School junior Abigail Carberry has been selected to participate in one of the 2013 National Association for Music Education All-Eastern Honors Music Ensembles.

Carberry, who will sing in the mixed chorus, is among 780 musically talented high school students in the Eastern region of the United States chosen to perform at the NAfME Eastern Division Conference next April at the Bushnell Center for the Performing Arts’ Mortensen Hall in Hartford, CT.

The ensembles, organized by members of NAfME, consist of a concert band, symphony orchestra, mixed chorus, treble voice chorus and jazz ensemble. The methods used to compile the lists vary from state to state, but all recommended students must have participated in their home All-State festivals. From November 29th through December 2nd, Carberry represented West Babylon at the New York State School Music Association Winter Conference held at the Eastman Theatre in Rochester, N.Y.
