West Babylon Man Arrested On Child Porn Charges: Police

A tip to the Internet Crimes Against Children hotline led detectives to seize electronic devices from his home, police say.

WEST BABYLON, NY — A West Babylon man was arrested Monday morning after police said investigators found child pornography on electronic devices seized from his home.

Mark Escorcia Jr., 24, was arrested at about 7 a.m. Monday and charged with possessing a sexual performance by a child and promoting a sexual performance by a child, Suffolk County police said.

According to police, detectives with the Digital Forensics Unit launched an investigation into Escorcia after receiving a tip through the Internet Crimes Against Children hotline.

Police said detectives executed a search warrant at Escorcia’s home, at 1226 Herzel Blvd. in West Babylon, on March 13 and seized electronic devices.

After examining the devices, detectives charged Escorcia at the First Precinct, police said.

He is scheduled to be arraigned Monday at First District Court in Central Islip.
