WEST BABYLON, NY - Local resident Tom Pellicane has returned to West Babylon to reopened the Bergen Deli.

The business may be "under new ownership," but Pellicane is not exactly new to the Bergen Deli.

The West Babylon resident previously owned the deli between 1997 and 2007. He then went on to own the Bayview Deli in Babylon starting in 2012 which had been destroyed by Superstorm Sandy, until 2015.

He is now back at Bergen, which he calls his "final resting place."

Pellicane says customers can expect a very clean, very friendly environment.
"This is what we do, this is how we do our business," he told Patch. "Clean, fast, fresh is our motto."
So far, Pellicane says he has received positive feedback from customers from social media and Yelp.

"All around people do know me I do have a really good following," he said. "I'm known between West Babylon and Babylon for probably about 30 years."
Despite being located right on the water, the deli will be open year round. Once the weather is nicer, Pellicane plans to host events such as open mic nights at the deli.
The business is open everyday from 5:30 a.m. until 5 p.m. in the winter and until 8 p.m. during the summer.
