West Babylon Students Pledge to be Drug-Free

Santapogue Elementary holds annual Red Ribbon/Character Counts ceremony.

The Santapogue Elementary School community in West Babylon pledged to remain drug-free and to display positive character traits after the annual Red Ribbon/Character Counts ceremony.

The PTA and staff decorated the school’s interior and exterior with red ribbons. Dressed in red, students voluntarily pledged to resist drugs and display character both on and off campus. As a culminating activity, the students gathered outside and held banners with words such as citizenship, respect, responsibility, trustworthiness and fairness. The staff and students also decorated the fence with the words “drug free.”
