West Babylon Woman With Alzheimer’s Reported Missing: PD
Helen Benjamin, 70, was last seen leaving her Lakeway Drive home on Thursday evening, police say.

WEST BABYLON, NY — A Silver Alert has been issued for a missing West Babylon woman who suffers with the onset of Alzheimer’s Disease, Suffolk County Police said.
Helen Benjamin, 70, was last seen leaving her Lakeway Drive home at about 6:40 p.m. on Thursday, police said.
She was heading to a church meeting at Kingdom Hall, located at 73 Forest Ave., West Babylon, police said, and it is unknown at this time whether she arrived.

Benjamin is Black, 5 feet 2 inches tall and about 130 pounds, police said. She has brown hair and brown eyes and was last seen wearing a green jacket and driving a 2004 black Hyundai Elantra, with NY license plate HWV 1263.
Benjamin previously lived in Newburgh, NY, and may have headed to that area, police said.

Detectives are asking anyone with information on Benjamin’s location to call 911 or First Squad detectives at 631-854-8152.
Silver Alert is a program implemented in Suffolk County that allows local law enforcement to share information with media outlets about individuals with special needs who have been reported missing.
