Woman Dies After West Babylon Rollover Crash: PD

WEST BABYLON, NY — A woman died after a rollover crash in West Babylon on Monday afternoon, Suffolk County police said.

Kimberly Pigott, 31. of Lindenhurst, was driving a 1999 Mercury Mountaineer westbound on State Route 109 at about 4:20 p.m., when she attempted to make a left turn onto Herzel Boulevard and crossed in front of a 2020 Jeep that was traveling eastbound on State Route 109, police said.

Pigott’s vehicle was struck on the passenger side, police said.

She was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip where she was pronounced dead, police said. The driver of the Jeep was taken to same hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

Both vehicles were impounded for safety checks. Anyone with information on the crash is asked to contact First Squad detectives at 631-854-8152.
