Woman Fatally Struck By Car While Crossing Street In West Babylon

The 60-year-old pedestrian was hit and killed by a car Friday evening.

WEST BABYLON, NY - A woman was killed after being struck by a car while crossing the street in West Babylon Friday evening, according to Suffolk Police.

Paula James was crossing Little East Neck Road just north of 12th Street when she was struck by a 2006 Kia traveling northbound on Little East Neck Road at 5:50 p.m.

James, 60, of West Babylon, was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip, where she was pronounced dead.

The driver of the Kia, 55-year-old Ruben Argueta, of Wyandanch, was not injured.

The Kia was impounded for a safety check.
