UPDATE: Police ID Woman Killed In West Babylon Crash
The woman's SUV struck a tree and pole Tuesday morning, police say.

WEST BABYLON, NY – A 61-year-old woman was killed in a single-car crash in West Babylon Tuesday morning, police said.
According to Suffolk Police, the woman was driving her 2010 Nissan Murano north on Straight Path at the intersection of 9th Street when she lost control of the SUV and the vehicle struck a pole and a tree at about 8 a.m.

The woman, whose name is being withheld pending notification of kin, was transported by West Babylon Rescue to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip where she was pronounced dead, police said.
The vehicle was impounded for a safety check and the investigation is continuing. Detectives are asking anyone with information on the crash to call the First Squad at 631-854-8152.
