Woman Seriously Hurt in Head-On Crash on Ocean Parkway

BREAKING: The crash occurred Friday afternoon, police say.

Several people were injured, including one woman who was seriously hurt, in a head-on crash on Ocean Parkway Friday afternoon, State Police said.

According to police, Sandra Martinez-Lopez, of Wyandanch, was driving a Honda Pilot west on Ocean Parkway at about 12:33 p.m. when she attempted to make a U-turn east of Cedar Beach.

Martinez-Lopez failed to negotiate the curve, drove through the on-ramp, and immediately entered the eastbound lanes of the parkway, police said. The Honda then struck a GMC Yukon that was traveling in the eastbound lanes.
