2 Teens Hurt In Bay Shore Motorcycle Crash: Police

Police said the teen driving the motorcycle ran a red light before he crashed into a Tesla, according to Suffolk County police.

BAY SHORE, NY — Two teenagers were injured Friday when the motorcycle they were riding crashed into a Tesla at a Bay Shore intersection, according to police.

Suffolk County police said that around 8 p.m., a 14-year-old boy driving an electric motorcycle east on Union Boulevard ran a red light at the intersection of Saxon Avenue before crashing into a Tesla traveling northbound.

According to police, the teen suffered serious injuries in the crash. He was taken to South Shore University Hospital for treatment.

A 14-year-old female passenger on the motorcycle was also injured in the crash, police said. She was also taken to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

The driver of the Tesla and two adult passengers were uninjured, police said.
