3 Long Island Children Killed In Florida Crash: Police
The 24-year-old driver was injured, as was a fourth child and a woman, police said.
NASSAU COUNTY, FL — Three children from Bay Shore were killed in a crash Saturday near the Florida-Georgia state line, according to police.
The incident occurred at 7:40 a.m. on southbound Interstate 95 and resulted in the deaths of a 10-year-old girl, a 12-year-old boy and a 14-year-old boy, police said.
A sedan occupied by four children and two adults from Bay Shore slowed or stopped in the center lane of the bridge that separates Florida and Georgia, and an SUV rear-ended the car, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The driver of the sedan, a 24-year-old man, suffered serious injuries, and his two surviving passengers — a 14-year-old boy and a 47-year-old woman — were both critically wounded, police said. The SUV’s driver, a 23-year-old man from Apex, North Carolina, suffered minor injuries, according to police.
