61-Year-Old Man Seriously Injured In Hit-And-Run: PD
A 61-year-old pedestrian was seriously injured when he was struck by a car that ceased to stop in North Bay Shore, police say.
NORTH BAY SHORE, NY — A 61-year-old man was seriously injured when he was struck by a hit-and-run driver in North Bay Shore, Suffolk County Police said.
The man was standing on the shoulder of 5th Avenue, near Massachusetts Avenue, at 10 a.m. on Tuesday when he was struck by a sedan, police said. The car, believed to be a Honda, continued northbound on 5th Avenue without stopping, police said.
The man, whose identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin, was taken to South Shore University Hospital in Bay Shore in critical condition, police said.
