80 Firefighters Battle Bay Shore Blaze In Cold Weather
Firefighters rescued two dogs from the house fire that broke out on Thursday afternoon.

BAY SHORE, NY - A total of 80 firefighters battled a Bay Shore house fire in the cold weather on Thursday afternoon, according to the Brentwood Fire Department.
The blaze was reported at a Manatuck Boulevard home at about 2:32 p.m.
The fire started in the first floor but had traveled to the second floor, which was a converted attic into a bedroom.

Due to the cold weather and extent of the fire, 80 firefighters worked to battle the blaze.
The West Islip Fire Department, Deer Park Fire Department, Bay Shore Fire Department, Islip Fire Department, East Brentwood Fire Department and Brentwood Legion Ambulance all responded to the scene.

Two dogs were found, removed from the house and returned to the homeowner. The dogs and five residents were displaced by the fire.
No injuries were reported.
The fire was placed under control at 3:46 p.m.
The fire is being investigated by the Suffolk County Police Department Arson Squad and the Islip town Fire Marshalls Office.
