BAY SHORE, NY — A Bay Shore man was seriously injured Wednesday night when the dirt bike he was riding crashed into a vehicle stopped in traffic, Suffolk County police said.
Vincent McKie, 45, was operating a Suzuki DRZ dirt bike southbound on Brentwood Road when he crashed into the right rear of a 2025 Acura RDX in front of 1383 Brentwood Road at about 9:15 p.m., police said.
McKie was ejected from the dirt bike and suffered serious injuries, according to police. He was taken to South Shore University Hospital in Bay Shore for treatment.
The driver of the Acura, Gerson Rivas Varela, 26, of Bay Shore, was not injured, police said.
Both vehicles were impounded for safety checks.
