1. Bay Shore Man Stabbed 10 Times At LIRR Station, 2 Charged: DA (patch.com) β Bay Shore residents are learning more about July's fatal stabbing at the local Long Island Rail Road station, where a 34-year-old man was attacked and later died at South Shore University Hospital. Prosecutors say a 24-year-old Bay Shore man and a 17-year-old co-defendant now face second-degree murder charges, with one suspect extradited from Pennsylvania and held without bail as court dates approach.

2. West Islip Man Indicted for Fatal Crash on Roadway (lilifepolitics.com) β A Bay Shore man was killed in June when he was struck while walking along the Robert Moses Causeway, and the West Islip driver accused of hitting him has now been indicted on manslaughter, DWI, and hit-and-run charges. Prosecutors say the driver left the scene, returned later, and waited about 30 minutes before calling 911. He's being held on high bail and is due back in court in October.

Long Island high school football games to watch, plus game picks (newsday.com) β Bay Shore football fans can watch history this Saturday when the hometown team hosts Patchogue-Medford at 1 p.m. to celebrate 100 years of Bay Shore high school football, facing the same program it played in its very first game. Sept. 11th memorial in Veterans Memorial Park (trihamletnews.com) β Bay Shore residents were represented at Islip Town's Sept. 11 memorial, where local fire departments, including Bay Shore's, helped raise flags over Veterans Memorial Park during a solemn evening ceremony. With prayers, music, and the reading of victims' names, town leaders and families gathered to honor those lost 25 years ago and reaffirm the community's promise to never forget.
