From Baked Goods To 200K Meals Daily: Entenmann’s Site Reopens For Food Production In Bay Shore

The Bay Shore-based company will redevelop the historic North Bay Shore bakery site into a 107,000-square-foot production hub.

BAY SHORE, NY — Redefine Meals is entering its next chapter with a major expansion at the former Entenmann's Bakery property in North Bay Shore.

The New York-based fresh meal prep company announced plans to redevelop the 107,000-square-foot facility into a centralized production and operations headquarters — a move company leaders say will significantly increase capacity, efficiency, and regional reach.

Once fully operational, the site will be capable of producing up to 200,000 meals per day, supporting Redefine Meals’ expanding retail footprint and growing demand across Long Island, New York City, Westchester, and future markets.

Founded in 2016 by childhood best friends and Long Island natives Matthew Riss and Mark Ciaburri, the company has grown to 25 grab-and-go retail locations and an e-commerce platform delivering to Suffolk and Nassau counties, New York City, and Westchester County.

“This expansion is something we’ve been working toward for years,” co-founder Mark Ciaburri said. “It gives us the ability to scale responsibly, create jobs locally, and continue delivering high-quality meals at a price point that makes sense for everyday life.”

Beyond production, the Bay Shore facility will include a factory outlet retail space, allowing customers to purchase meals directly from the source. Company leaders said the site’s history as a Long Island landmark played a meaningful role in their decision to build there.

The project represents a significant redevelopment of a property long associated with food manufacturing in Suffolk County, restoring commercial activity to a site that has deep roots in the local community.

The new facility is expected to create substantial job opportunities in Suffolk County, with positions spanning food production, logistics, quality control, and operations. Construction and phased openings are expected to continue throughout the year.

“For so many people, this location holds memories,” co-founder Matthew Riss said. “We’re proud to bring food production back to this space — this time with a modern focus on health, convenience, and accessibility.”

With this expansion, Redefine Meals is positioning itself to evolve from a fast-growing local brand into a scalable regional food company, while remaining rooted in its founding values of community, quality ingredients, and convenience.
