Unbelievably, he answered her and the two became long distance pen pals for three years before they met in person. “In a most improbable friendship, she found love. In a world where women were silenced, she found her voice.” C.S. Lewis called Joy his “whole world (stars, water, air and field and forest), as they were reflected in a single mind.”
