Presenter Jackie Fischer will describe her story entitled “The Lost Branch” of how she discovered her lost branch of her family tree. Her book is a poetic journey through the immigration process of long ago, the Italian culture past and present and how roots can be strong even though 100 years have passed. A multi-generational story that teaches us about what happened to two brothers that were separated at Ellis Island a long time ago. Her book also inspired a song and video which can be found on youtube, called the lost branch song. Audience participation is encouraged, please share your story of immigration and family culture.
As a culinary and cultural bonus, Chef/Dr. Robert Dell’Amore, of The Power of Food Productions, will be returning and serving a delicious, nutritious and totally Italian/Mediterranean appetizer course for you to sample and enjoy: mushroom/fig/balsamic glaze bruschetta. To.Die.For.
