Long Island Man Found Guilty of Sexually Abusing Young Girl For 4 Years
The 43-year-old was arrested last March.
A Bay Shore man was found guilty on Friday of sexually abusing a young girl between 2012 and 2016, according to the Suffolk County District Attorney.
After a 40 minute deliberation, a jury convicted 43-year-old Robert Kattau of first degree sexual conduct against a child and endangering the welfare of a child, according to the DA.
According to the DA, Kattau began sexually abusing the victim when she was 8 years old in the summer of 2012.

The girl told a friend of the abuse and eventually officials of the school she was attending learned of Kattau’s behavior and notified police, according to the DA.
Kattau was then arrested on March 9, 2016.

District Attorney Thomas Spota said the DA's office will recommend that Kattau faces a maximum of 25 years in state prison.
He is due back in court for sentencing on March 14.
