From Bay Shore School District: Recently, Bay Shore Middle School teacher Mrs. Ingold was honored as the 2019 Middle School Teacher of Year by the New York State Council for the Social Studies. The award recognizes a New York State Middle School Teacher who is knowledgeable in social studies content and pedagogy, but who is also able to successfully relate to their students at the middle level. Prior to receiving recognition on the state level, Mrs. Ingold was also recognized at the regional level. She received the prestigious Cohen- Jordan Secondary Award given by the Middle States Council of the Social Studies, which recognizes an outstanding secondary social studies teacher who sets high standards for social studies instruction in either a Middle or High School classroom setting. She was the council’s choice to represent excellence in secondary social studies education from a distinguished candidate pool of both middle and high school teachers from across the states of New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, and Washington, D.C.
