As we begin to approach the Thanksgiving holiday season, I’m reaching out to you not only as a colleague, but as President of Islip Food for Hope and as someone who believes deeply in the power of our community taking care of one another.
This Thanksgiving, our goal is to make sure 1,300 local families can sit down together and enjoy a warm, traditional Thanksgiving dinner through our Boxes of Love program.
For many of us, Thanksgiving means gathering around a table filled with food, family, laughter, and traditions. But for far too many families in our community, putting that meal on the table is a real struggle. Food insecurity continues to impact more of our neighbors, seniors, and families than many of us realize.
That’s why this work means so much to me.
One of our favorite annual fundraisers is coming up at the Harp & Hound in Islip. It’s always a great day filled with football, great food, tons of raffles, friends, and, of course, our famous Stop the Clock Drawing!
There is no admission fee. Food and beverages will be available for purchase at your own expense, so come down, spend the day with us, watch some football, and most importantly, help us help others.
We currently have just 150 Stop the Clock tickets left to sell, and I would love the support of my colleagues in helping us sell every last one.

You do not need to be present to win. Once you purchase your ticket, you will receive an email with your ticket number(s).
Starting at 5pm Every 15 minutes, we will draw a $500 winner, and our final drawing will be for $2,500! And here’s the best part: even if your ticket wins, it goes right back into the drawing and can win again.
Every ticket we sell brings us one step closer to filling another Box of Love and putting a Thanksgiving dinner on another family's table.
I have always believed that when our community comes together, there is very little we cannot accomplish. 1,300 families is an ambitious goal, but behind every one of those boxes is a family who deserves to know that their community cares about them.
