Father, Son Spray Painted Graffiti On Bay Shore Businesses: SCPD

The two were allegedly caught spray painting several buildings in Bay Shore on Wednesday night, police said.

BAY SHORE, NY - A father and son were accused of making graffiti at several Bay Shore businesses on Wednesday night, according to Suffolk Police. While investigating an unrelated case, three detectives saw Thomas Shane and his son, Thomas Shane Jr. spray painting buildings on 5th Avenue at 11:30 p.m., police said.

Officers then found out the two Shirley residents had been in the area for an hour and a half, spray painting multiple businesses, police said.

According to police, 48-year-old Shane was charged with six counts of making graffiti for spray painting the following locations:

  • Mobil Gas on 211 5th Avenue in Bay Shore.
  • Jennifer Total Beauty Salon on 1820 5th Avenue in Bay Shore.
  • MetroPCS on 1820 5th Avenue in Bay Shore.
  • 5th Ave. Appliances on 1833 5th Avenue in Bay Shore.
  • Jose’s Hair Cutting Inc. on 1831 5th Avenue in Bay Shore.
  • La Cubanita Deli on 1827 5th Avenue in Bay Shore.

In addition, police say 26-year-old Shane Jr. was charged with four counts of making graffiti for spray painting the following locations:

  • Jennifer Total Beauty Salon on 1820 5th Avenue in Bay Shore.
  • A vacant building on 91 5th Avenue in Bay Shore.
  • 5th Ave. Appliances on 1833 5th Avenue in Bay Shore.
  • Infinity Physical Therapy on 1823 5th Avenue in Bay Shore.

The pair was released on bail and will be arraigned at a later date.
