Former Long Island Cares CEO Paule Pachter Joins Pronto Board As Vice Chairman

The former Long Island Cares president and CEO will help guide strategic growth and food security efforts at the Bay Shore-based nonprofit.

Bay Shore, NY — Pronto of Long Island has appointed longtime nonprofit leader Paule Pachter as Vice Chairman of its Board of Directors, strengthening the Bay Shore-based organization’s leadership as it continues expanding food security and social service programs across the region.

Pachter previously served for nearly two decades as President and CEO of Long Island Cares, where he led one of Long Island’s largest hunger-relief organizations. During his tenure, Long Island Cares expanded its food distribution network, strengthened partnerships with community agencies and increased advocacy efforts focused on addressing food insecurity and poverty.

As Vice Chairman, Pachter will help guide board governance, strategic growth initiatives, and long-term planning efforts as Pronto continues to broaden its impact.

“Paule’s appointment reflects our commitment to strong governance and thoughtful growth,” said Keith Scott, President and CEO of Pronto of Long Island. “His depth of nonprofit experience, strategic insight and unwavering dedication to serving vulnerable communities will be invaluable as we continue to expand Pronto’s reach and ensure that families across Long Island receive the vital services they deserve.”

Board Chairwoman Lisa Carfora said Pachter’s leadership will help position the organization for continued growth.

Pachter said he has long admired Pronto’s work serving diverse communities across Long Island.

“I’m honored that Pronto of Long Island has invited me to join the dedicated members of its board of directors as Vice Chairman,” Pachter said. “Pronto’s approach to supporting people experiencing food insecurity is comprehensive because they focus on the root causes of hunger by providing an array of services and programs that enable people to move from being in need to becoming more self-sufficient. I’m looking forward to working with the board to position Pronto to meet the growing needs within our region.”

Pronto of Long Island operates a large food pantry in Bay Shore and offers a range of programs designed to support families facing hardship. The organization is also planning a grand opening for its new walk-in pantry in the near future.
