LI Woman To Open New Bakery In Bay Shore

BAY SHORE, NY — A "sweet" new business is expected to open in Bay Shore this spring. Patchogue resident Amanda Dill recently announced she will be opening Amanda's Bakery Co. on 184 W. Main Street in March or early April. The 25-year-old has been working on her first ever business venture on her own for past two years.

"Baking and decorating is a passion of mine and I’m lucky to do what I love as my career," she told Patch. "I’ve always dreamed of opening my own bakery and this was the perfect opportunity."

Patch: How would you best describe your business?

Dill: Trendy, customizable, delicious treats and desserts for any occasion

P: What makes your business unique?

D: I am a young female business owner and love interacting and getting to know my customers. If you can imagine it we can create it

P: What's the best business advice you've ever received?

D: To just go for it and take the risk. No risk no reward

P: Why did you decide to open your business in Bay Shore? Why is this a good place for your business?

D: Firstly the store was already set up as a bakery, it just needed a little TLC and my own equipment but the layout was all set up. I also saw a great opportunity being so close to St. Patrick’s church and the YMCA. I also frequent fire island in the summers and the proximity to the ferries can’t be beat.

P: What makes Bay Shore special?

D: It is lively and up and coming, family friendly and has plenty of events.

P: What's one thing you want your customers to know about your business?

D: I am so excited to be opening up in Bay Shore and can’t wait to meet and get to know everyone!

P: What's one fun fact about you?

D: My family is very important to me and I love animals!
