Man Charged In Hit-And-Run Crash That Injured 2 Pedestrians: PD
The 25-year-old was arrested in connection to the crash earlier this week that left two pedestrians injured, one seriously, police say.
BAY SHORE, NY — A Bay Shore man was arrested on Thursday in connection to a hit-and-run crash in Bay Shore that injured two pedestrians earlier this week, according to Suffolk Police. An investigation by detectives revealed that 25-year-old Emerson Alvarado was the man responsible for the crash, police said.
On Monday, 30-year-old Victor Gonzalez Arevalo and 36-year-old Dany Ibarra Martinez, both of Brentwood, were walking northbound on the sidewalk of Fifth Avenue, before crossing Fairtown Road, when they were struck by a car driving northbound on Fifth Avenue, making a right turn onto Fairtown Road at 6:30 p.m.
Gonzalez was transported by the Brentwood Legion Ambulance to Southside Hospital in Bay Shore with life-threatening injuries. Ibarra Martinez had a minor injury to his left foot.

Alvarado was charged with leaving the scene of an accident resulting in serious physical injury. He will be arraigned at a later date.
