Man Stole Tip Jars From 2 Bay Shore Businesses: SCPD

The 29-year-old was seen on surveillance video stealing the jar from one of the businesses earlier this month.

BAY SHORE, NY - A man was arrested on Monday for stealing tip jars from two Bay Shore businesses earlier this month, according to Suffolk Police.

A man entered Mitsui restaurant on 1 W. Main Street on September 6 at 11:30 a.m. and stole the tip jar from the counter, police said.

The same man entered Bay Shore Bean on 47 E. Main Street on September 13 at 6:10 p.m. and stole the tip jar from next to the register, police said.

An investigation revealed the man was 29-year-old Khari Cuffie, police said.

He was arrested outside on 4th Avenue, near Union Boulevard in Bay Shore at 3:30 p.m.

Cuffie was charged with two counts of petty larceny.

He was issued a Desk Appearance Ticket and is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on November 19.
