Motorcyclist Seriously Injured In North Bay Shore Hit-And-Run

The motorcyclist was thrown from his vehicle after he was hit by a car, which fled the scene, and then struck by another car.

NORTH BAY SHORE, NY - A motorcyclist was seriously injured after a hit-and-run crash in North Bay Shore on Saturday night, according to Suffolk County Police.

James Antonelli, 63, of Bay Shore was driving a 2008 Harley Davidson motorcycle eastbound on Pine Aire Drive, east of Manatuck Boulevard, when the motorcycle was struck by a car that drove out of a 7-Eleven parking lot at 10:47 p.m., police said.

Antonelli was then thrown into the westbound lane where he was struck by a 2004 Mercury sedan.

The Mercury was driven by a 54-year-old Bay Shore woman who stopped and remained at the scene.

The first car, described as a black four-door sedan, fled westbound on Pine Aire Boulevard, police said.

Antonelli was transported to Southside Hospital in Bay Shore for treatment of serious injuries.

The vehicles were impounded for safety checks.
