New Farm-To-Table Restaurant Opens In Bay Shore

The new eatery opened in place of the Milk and Sugar Cafe which closed in September after 18 years in business.

BAY SHORE, NY - A new farm-to-table restaurant recently opened up at the site of the former Milk and Sugar Cafe in Bay Shore.

Barn Door 49, located on 49 West Main Street, officially opened its doors during the Bay Shore Brightwaters St. Patrick’s Parade on March 10.

The owners of the Milk and Sugar Cafe, Gina and Lenny Jaworowski, decided shut down the cafe after 18 years in September and completely reconstruct the restaurant, GreaterBayShore reports.

“We want to be the hot spot again,” Gina told GreaterBayShore. “And it’s like anything, whether in the restaurant business or in your life, you have to change and start fresh and reinvent and think of new approaches.”

The new eatery will offers foods based on taste inspired by farmers, fishermen, and the artisan food producers.

Customers can enjoy shareable appetizers and entrees such as grassfed burgers for lunch or dinner or Sunday brunch until 3 p.m.

If your looking for drink instead of food, Barn Door 49 also offers a wide variety of beers and wines.

The restaurant will be open from Tuesday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 12 a.m. and Sunday until from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
